My Skincare Routine
There are positives to take from lockdown - I've actually been able to spend a lot more time on my skincare routine. Rather than doing a quick once over and slapping on a bit of moisturiser on (if I'm lucky) because my beloved bed is calling.
I'm no skincare expert, but I do know that I have sensitive and dehydrated skin. You can see if you're skin is dehydrated by pinching a cherry size amount of your cheek. If your cheek has fine wrinkles on it, that means your skin is crying out for some moisture. I'm not here to tell you to spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds on skincare - I don't have that kind of cash to splash. This is nice mix of affordable products and what I've found works for me.
Day time
Step 1: A face wash using Gallinée's Foaming Cleanser. I simply use warm water to rinse off and then dry my face on a towel. *
Step 2: I then use Gallinée's Face Vinegar a toner that uses probiotics. Both the Gallinée products feel like they're really giving your skin a deep clean. *
Step 3: The Sanctury's Glow Tonic is a product that I love. It does what it says on the tin and immediately brings out that glow. *
Step 4: It's time for serum and I use The Ordinary's 'Buffet'. A super moisturising treatment that my skin just laps up.
Step 5: Then followed by The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 all to increase skin moisture and that fresh face look.
Step 6: Day moisturiser. I use Boots own and it works perfectly well for me. With a tiny price tag, I don't feel bad slapping it on.
Step 7: The most important one of all. Avene's Factor 50+ Face Sun Cream. It seems extravagant to spend this price tag on a sun cream but when it's being used daily, I think it's worth it. I personally wouldn't want to be using a standard sun cream on your face daily because they're quite oily. This has been made just for your face.
And you're done! Now it's time to put on make-up (if you feel like it)
Night time
Step 1: If I've been wearing make up I was it off with Pears soap. The most economical part of my skincare routine at around 60p per bar (which lasts ages) and I use a hot cloth to wipe the soap off with warm water.
Step 2: Garnier's Rose & Glow Micellar Water - I love this product. I find the smell immediately relaxes me. It takes off any excess make up that may have been left behind after the soap.
Step 3: I then use Nivea's Refreshing Toner using reusable cotton pads.
Step 4: Another blast with The Ordinary's 'Buffet'
Step 5: No. 7's Youthful Eye Serum is added around my eyes using my fourth finger really lightly. The reason for the fourth finger is because it's the most padded finger we have - which means you don't pull the skin around your eyes too much.
Step 6: Night moisturiser - again I use Boots own brand.
Step 7: I use The Ordinary's Retinol 1% to help balance out uneven skin tone.
Step 8: I then add The Ordinary's 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil for my skin to absorb overnight.
Step 9: Don't forget about your lips! I use Burt's Bees lip balm.
There we have it. Hopefully we'll have skin like a five year old in no time!
